Department of Mathematics

About/History

Adıyaman University Department of Mathematics was established in 1998, affiliated to Adıyaman Faculty of Arts and Sciences at İnönü University and started accepting students in the 1999-2000 academic year.  In 2006, Department of Mathematics became affiliated with Adıyaman University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. 

Mission

The aim of the Department of Mathematics is to raise individuals who are able to conduct scientific research at the international level, who are self-confident, who can follow new developments, who have absorbed basic academic mathematics and mathematical thinking and who will gain respectable places not just in the world of science in our country but also in the society and business life.

Vision

The vision of the Mathematic Department is to become a nationally and internationally recognized and preferred department in the field of mathematics.

Message from the Head of Department

Welcome to Adıyaman University Department of Mathematics. Our department is among the leading Mathematics departments in our country with its programme that is in accordance with international standards and its qualified academic staff who conduct high-level research. The aim of the Department of Mathematics is to give students a good mathematics education and to provide them with the knowledge and skills that they need for advanced studies in mathematics or related disciplines.

Nowadays, the number of the fields in which mathematics is used increases according to the requirements in other fields and hence mathematics is constantly updating itself. Mathematics is the basis of developments in the fields such as engineering, physics, chemistry, environment, space, finance and economics. Our other goals include supporting other faculties by providing mathematics lessons, publishing scientific studies and research articles in national and international journals, participating in conferences and presenting projects.
