Message fromtheHead of Department

Archeology departments in our country and in the world try to unveil the cultural progress of their communities by revealing the material remains produced since the period when mankind started making tools. Thus, they are not limited to the recent history of mankind but reveal the stages of the cultural evolution of mankind that started to produce tools 2.5 million years ago. Our department instills an awareness of history in the students by providing information about the unearthed cultural assets. It cooperates with different disciplines to carry out this. Our department instills the culture of working together that derives from working with different disciplines in the students. In this way, our department raises qualified scientists and personnel who conducts research and try to find out the truth. The most important motivation factor for students who decide to study at the Department of Archeology should be loving history and wondering the past.
