The Department of Physics, originally part of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at İnönü University, became affiliated with Adıyaman University and admitted its first students in the 2008–2009 academic year.
As a young department, the Physics Department embraces a sense of dynamism and responsibility, aiming to pursue multiple objectives simultaneously. These objectives can be summarized as follows:
To maintain scientific activities in the field of physics at a contemporary, international level, ensuring that our country is recognized among nations that lead and have a voice in science.
To keep pace with advanced technologies and contribute to the competitiveness of national industry by conducting education and research activities in these areas.
To play an improving and pioneering role in physics education and applications at all levels within the country.
