Department of Turkish Language and Literature
About/History
Adıyaman University Department of Turkish Language and Literature was established in 1998 in affiliation with İnönü University Adıyaman Faculty of Arts and Sciences. It started accepting students in the 1999-2000 academic year. In 2006, it became affiliated with Adıyaman University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Evening education programme of the Department was opened in the 2008-2009 academic year.
Mission
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to provide its students with a broad knowledge of field, to improve their knowledge of language and literature, to equip the students with required skills to deal with language and literature from different perspectives and to reconstruct them.
Vision
We aim to provide students of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature with superior academic and professional skills. As the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, we aim to provide necessary education in Turkish Language, Turkish Literature, Folk Literature, Turkish Culture and Turkish History; to provide original, innovative and international education and training with the experience of our field.
Message fromtheHead of Department
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Adıyaman University has contributed to the training of many students throughout the country since its establishment. The existence of competent academic staff in the department and the availability of the social and physical conditions of our university have enabled the students who pursue their education at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature to develop their knowledge and skills.
Our Department also provides education for MA and PHD students in affiliation with the Graduate Education Institute. As a department, we will be delighted to contribute to each and every one of our students who wants to improve herself/himself in the field of Turkish Language and Literature.
